Hunter Biden’s bid to dismiss federal gun charges has been dismissed by a federal appeals court.
A three-judge panel made the decision to reject the appeal, though they did allow for another appeal to be filed if Biden gets convicted.
The merits of the appeal were not even considered, and the rejection order read, “This appeal is dismissed because the defendant has not shown the District Court’s orders are appealable before final judgment.”
In response, Biden’s attorney Abbe Lowell e-mailed a statement obtained by The Hill: “In reviewing the panel’s decision, we believe the issues involved are too important and further review of our request is appropriate.”
The son of sitting President Joe Biden is under indictment for allegedly buying a handgun after making the false claim that he was not a drug user.
Biden has pled not guilty to the charge. The trial is set to begin in June.
