Man sought in sexual assaults of 2 women at West Ridge Nature Park

The two incidents happened about 10:15 p.m. Monday and 9:40 a.m. Wednesday at West Ridge Nature Park, 5801 N. Western Ave., police said.

Chicago police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted two women at different times this week at the West Ridge Nature Park.

A 53-year-old woman was walking in the park, 5801 N. Western Ave., about 10:15 p.m. Monday when a man grabbed her from behind and then ran off, police said.

About 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, a 33-year-old woman was walking in the park when he struck her on the buttock, police said. The man followed her as she ran away and called for help, but he then fled from the area.

According to police, the man may be between 20 and 45 years old, between 5 foot 7 and 5 foot 11, heavy set and with long black hair and a black beard.

He was wearing a dark blue sweater, black sweatpants and Nike sandals during the first incident. He was wearing a flannel shirt and pants during the second incident, police said.
