NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A passenger on a Republic Airways flight heading to LaGuardia Airport last week was arrested after screaming about God and demons then attempting to open the cabin doors before takeoff.

Wesley Orban was charged with interference and attempted interference with flight crew members and attendants.

Just before 6:30 a.m. on Thursday Nov. 9, Orban began yelling "God is real" and talking about demons when the plane began to push back from the gate at Omaha's Eppley Airfield, according to the complaint.

He then allegedly proceeded to jump from his seat and run toward the front of the plane and started pounding on the cabin doors before attempting to open them.

Orban was restrained and pinned to the ground by passengers on the flight before he was taken off the plane into the custody of Omaha Airport Authority Police.

He was granted conditional release during an appearance in federal court on Monday and has to turn over his passport, shotguns and is not allowed to leave Nebraska or Iowa and can't have drugs or alcohol.

"Republic Airways Flight 5751 returned to the gate at Eppley Airfield in Omaha around 6:30 a.m. local time on Thursday, Nov. 9 after reporting an incident with an unruly passenger," FAA said in a statement. "The Embraer 175 was taxiing for departure to LaGuardia Airport. Please contact law enforcement and the airline for more information."
