While alligators are no stranger to Texas, any time one is spotted in person it always causes a bit of a shock. That’s exactly what happened to one Texas man recently when he spotted a massive alligator strolling through a neighborhood in Missouri City. The alligator was over 1,000 pounds and took a wrangler over three hours to capture.
Police in Missouri City, Texas were contacted recently after a 11-foot, 1,200 pound, alligator was spotted walking through a residential neighborhood.
According to Fox News, the alligator only had three legs, but still put up quite the fight. As seen in a now viral video, a wrangler struggles to corral the alligator, even getting tail whipped in the chest at one point.
“If you see an alligator in the roadway, DO NOT attempt to move it! Notify local authorities so the alligator can be handled safely," The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department warned. Luckily this alligator was eventually captured before anyone was harmed. Maybe next time it will find a more alligator friendly neighborhood.
