Chicago-based McDonald's says it will spend $8.5-billion over the next decade to modernize the menus and restaurants at its 46,000 locations around the world.
The corporation says it wants to attract people who use GLP-1 weight loss drugs, who want smaller, more protein-packed meals.
McDonald's also says upgrades to its restaurants will include incorporating more AI systems for inventory and drive-thru services, lockers to handle delivery orders more easily, and larger play areas.
