Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a self-described Deadhead.
The 83-year-old Congresswoman, who lives in the band's hometown of San Francisco, admitted during an interview with the Los Angeles Times that she's a longtime fan of the Grateful Dead.
"They're wonderful musicians," she said. "It's great music."
Pelosi told the newspaper that she's seen the Dead and its successor Dead And Company multiple times -- more than she can remember -- and she owns a wide range of Dead memorabilia.
She even caught Dead and Company's farewell tour this summer, and snagged a setlist after hanging out with Bob Weir backstage.
Pelosi went on to tell the newspaper her musical tastes include "everything from rap to opera," with Drake, Taylor Swift, U2, Keith Urban, Elton John, Metallica, and Stevie Wonder making her playlists.
"I'm a strong believer that the arts are the secret, our best hope for the future," she said. "[Music] is a unifier. People forget their differences, they don't even think of it. They laugh together, cry together, are inspired together, find common ground together and I do think that's our hope."
