Two men are facing federal charges for allegedly selling cocaine, ecstasy, magic mushrooms and other drugs out of vending machines at an after-hours club and a fake health and wellness store in Honolulu.
Marc Goto, 52, and Frankie Nguyen, 32, made their initial court appearance this week after being charged with possession with intent to distribute.
According to federal court documents obtained by The Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Goto and Nguyen were allegedly selling the drugs at Club Aether, where at least three overdoses -- one of them fatal -- were reported over the course of a year.
Officials say there was a back room at the club that customers had access to via a keypad code that they'd get from staff. In that room, there were vending machines that dispensed bags of cocaine and Ketamine, along with ecstasy and THC infused candies, according to The Star-Advertiser.
Police carried out search warrants at the nightclub and the fake health club, during which they seized several drugs that were "packaged for distribution" and stored in a vending machine "alongside a menu identifying various drugs including Ketamine, 'shrooms' (psilocybin ), Adderall, Xanax, 'molly' (MDMA ), and ecstasy, among other things," according to the report.
Investigators also reportedly seized ledgers and more than $200,000 from Goto's residence.
