It's not taking a political side to say that newly elected President Donald Trump is beefing with lots of people and agencies in the United States and around the world.

And in the latest case, he has a problem with the state of Colorado.

President Trump is demanding that Colorado take down its “purposefully distorted” painting of him hanging in the State Capitol because, he says, it isn't nearly as flattering as the portrait of former President Barack Obama done by the same artist.

“The artist also did President Obama, and he looks wonderful, but the one [of] me is truly the worst. She must have lost her talent as she got older," he wrote on Truth Social.

Now, Trump's tiff with Colorado goes much deeper than a single portrait, as displayed in his back and forth with the state.

Shelby Wieman, a spokesperson for Democratic Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said the state's leader "was surprised to learn the President of the United States is an aficionado of our Colorado State Capitol and its artwork.”

Previously, an advisor to Colorado’s Democratic House Speaker Crisanta Duran placed a large portrait of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the spot where Trump’s portrait was meant to be, as Republicans struggled to raise funds for Trump's portrait. FOX 31 reported the Colorado Republican party collected over $10,000 in donations for Trump’s portrait in 2018.

The artist, Sarah Boardman, who produced the oil on canvas has created portraits of former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush -- no word on how she feels about the criticism or what the others think of their images.
