Joe Biden to wear custom-made Ralph Lauren suit to inauguration: Report

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Vice president-elect Kamala Harris may grace the current cover of Vogue, but her boss is just as style-savvy: President-elect Joe Biden will likely wear Ralph Lauren at Wednesday's inauguration, according to Women's Wear Daily.

Biden has been working with the iconic American designer on a custom suit for his swearing-in, according to WWD, citing sources.

Biden’s suit is expected to be single-breasted and two-buttoned, in a dark shade of blue worn with a crisp white or baby blue shirt, according to the report.

A source told WWD that wearing Ralph Lauren would "symbolically be a sartorial selection that would indicate a return to decorum and decency in the Office of the President.”

And Emma McClendon, who curated "Power Mode: The Force of Fashion" at the Fashion Institute of Technology, told The Guardian, "Ralph Lauren is a brand that has become synonymous with America on the global stage. From the company’s preppy advertising campaigns, to the red, white and blue uniforms (Lauren) has designed for the US Olympic team."

The suit is being made in the recently renamed Rochester Tailored Clothing in Rochester, N.Y., which has been making Hickey Freeman clothing for more than a century, sources said.

Neither the inaugural committee or Ralph Lauren have commented on Biden's wardobe.
