Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz has shed some clarity on one of the most confusing aspects of coronavirus reopening across New York State. When will gyms and fitness centers be alowed to reopen?
"Gyms are scheduled to be in phase four," said Poloncarz in an appearance on WGR SportsRadio 550 Thursday. "We're really talking about two and a half weeks until phase four," adds Poloncarz.
There has been much confusion about where gyms fall in the reopening process and Poloncarz says they have always been in phase four under 'recreation'.
"Gyms are probably one of the locations that have most risk of all," says Poloncarz and for that reason they fall in the final phase of reopening.
New York State has yet to release the official 'guidance' on reopening gyms and fitness centers according to Poloncarz.
