The Will County Coroner is attempting to identify a man whose body was found in a forest preserve nearly 17-years ago.

The man's body was found hanging from a tree in the Thorn Creek Nature Preserve in October of 2008.

It appeared to be a suicide. The body was badly decomposed.

Partially skeletonized, according to the Coroner. The body may have been there for several mnths. He was white. Middle aged. Six feet tall. Average build.

There's an artist's rendering of what the face may have looked like.

He wore a blue and white striped button down short sleeved shirt, khaki pants and size 13 loafers. In addition, there were cigarettes in a pants pocket and a silver lighter printed with a Polish flag.

There was a black and green backpack found near the body.
