CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- For 33 years, "Les Misérables" has been a mainstay on the theater circuit.
"It's a classic that can be retold and can speak to so many audiences no matter the time," said Caitlin Finnie, Ensemble, Understudy, Cosette.
"It's a story about redemption and about love and those two ideas don't ever die in time."
Finnie lived in Evanston with her family and graduated from Northwestern University in 2016.
"I studied Opera and Musical Theater. I went to New York for a showcase and got an agent. My first paying gig was my senior year at Northwestern. I was in the ensemble of 'King and I' at the Lyric Opera," she said.
Finnie said she was 12 when she was in the community theater version of the iconic show.
"It's great to come back. I was here before on our first stop on the tour. I have some friends and family coming and it'll be so good to perform in this city and the audiences in Chicago are so amazing," Finnie said.
"Les Misérables" is at the Cadillac Palace Theater through July 27.
