CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Two 7th graders from Palatine have bragging rights for their green energy project displayed at an annual invention convention sponsored by Chicago Innovation.
The Chicago Student Invention Convention, presented by Chicago Innovation, is a flexible curriculum focused on critical thinking, creativity, and innovation for Illinois students grades K-8. In 2019, 3,500 students at 45 schools, youth centers, and library branches participated and created inventions.
Student inventors in the Chicagoland area competed last month to receive state recognition and hopefully advance to the national level. The categories were separated by grade level, as well as an energy industry category that was new this year.
