"In this moment, especially, political stability is important," Pritzker said. "We also live in a moment when we have seen gun violence proliferate. I think it was important for me to speak out about it; important for Sen. Sandoval, as he did, to speak out about it."

August 19, 2019 Governor Pritzker said Senator Martin Sandoval was right to apologize for the photos taken at his fundraiser and posted on social media. But Illinois Republican Party Chairman Tim Schneider said Sandoval’s apology is too little, too late. He said some unstable individual could find the photos to be an inspiration.
