David Haugh (3-1): Commanders 31, Bears 24
There will be no dramatics, only realities the Bears can’t yet change. The Bears schedule softens over the next five games, but the Commanders might be the toughest of those matchups. How can the 31st-ranked run defense stop the NFL’s best rushing offense? The inability of the Bears to find that answer ultimately will lead to their third defeat.
Matt Spiegel (2-2): Bears 24, Commanders 20
The Bears shock the world, and Tyrique Stevenson has an interception. Chicago improves to 3-2 and climbs the power rankings with momentum.
Chris Emma (2-2): Commanders 28, Bears 20
The attention will be on the quarterbacks, but this contest will be decided by the ground games. The Bears have struggled to stop the run, and they're facing the NFL's top-ranked rushing offense. They also haven't gotten their own rushing attack going, ranking 24th in the league in yards per game entering Week 6. Washington will earn another win in this series, though in less dramatic fashion.
Paul Pabst (2-2): Bears 28, Commanders 27
I'm picking this game based off storyline and not football ability. If I were picking this straight, I would go with the Commanders. Instead, I’m taking the Bears to win on a last-second field goal. This is clean-up on aisle five time. The awful loss to Washington last year will be scrubbed. If I had any guts, I would pencil Tyrique Stevenson in for a pick-six too.
Alex Kuhn (3-1): Bears 21, Commanders 17
The Bears defense will be better against the run with T.J. Edwards and Kyler Gordon back, and Chicago gets a big win out of the bye week.
Sean Sears (4-0): Bears 27, Commanders 24
The Bears coming off a bye is usually a sign to stay away, but I’m confident Ben Johnson is going to put Caleb Williams in a position to win.
Tyler Ferengul (2-2): Commanders 27, Bears 24
This is going to be a close game, and I don’t see either team having a clear-cut edge. The Bears get a couple key defensive starters back healthy in Kyler Gordon and T.J. Edwards, and their offense may look rejuvenated after a bye week. But the Commanders – with the well-oiled machine of Dan Quinn, Kliff Kingsbury and Jayden Daniels – will ultimately be a little too much for the Bears. The Commanders earn a three-point win after the Bears cut into their deficit late but don’t have enough for a comeback. Chicago drops to 2-3 on the season.
Clint Clouse (3-1): Bears 35, Commanders 24
This a big-time revenge game for the Bears after their “Fail Mary” loss to the Commanders led to their free fall and Matt Eberflus’ eventual firing in 2024. This is also the sequel of Caleb Williams vs. Jayden Daniels, and hopefully it’s like the “Dark Knight” for the Bears and not “Caddyshack II.” I have a feeling the Bears have been thinking about this game for a while, with payback on their mind. Williams and Daniels will show why they were the top quarterbacks in the 2024 class, and the Bears will earn the win.
Robbie Triano (2-2): Commanders 28, Bears 24
This isn’t going to hurt as much as last year, but it’s still going to hurt. The Commanders will run all over the Bears, like every other team has so far this year. Silver lining? We continue to see progress and Caleb Williams will keep taking steps forward. Progress!
Tyler Buterbaugh (3-1): Bears 31, Commanders 28
The Bears offense comes back refreshed and locked in after getting the week off. Kyler Gordon will make a difference for the secondary in his season debut, and Tyrique Stevenson has looked like a new player and will be locked in for this game. Terry McLaurin is out due to injury, and the Commanders haven't shown to have a true No. 1 receiver. The Bears secondary will step up.
