David Haugh: Bears 27, Titans 21
This is more than the start of another Bears season. This is the beginning of an era. Caleb Williams will become the first quarterback taken with the No. 1 overall pick to win his NFL debut in Week 1 since David Carr in 2002 – quarterbacks are 0-14-1 since. The Bears defense will fluster Will Levis, Cairo Santos will kick two field goals and Williams will lean on his playmakers for an efficient victory in the opener.
Matt Spiegel: Bears 27, Titans 14
The campaign begins with optimism intact. Caleb Williams throws fewer than 20 passes because he doesn’t need to throw more. Austin Booker records a sack-and-a-half, and the Bears earn a win and a cover in Week 1.
Leila Rahimi: Bears 100, Titans 0
AAAAAAAA … takes a breath … AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
Chris Tannehill: Bears 23, Titans 20
Apparently, many people have a coronation scheduled on the lakefront this Sunday as Caleb Williams makes his first career NFL start. Yes, I’m excited about the idea of Caleb bringing the beloved Bears out of the dark ages. However, he's still just a rookie and he'll be facing a much-improved Titans team that has heard the same things we've all said about the Bears all offseason. I'm concerned about the lines on both sides of the ball for the Bears, but I think they have enough of a talent advantage to pull this one out late courtesy of a Mr. Santos field goal. Kick the damn ball already, I’m HYPED for this one.
Chris Emma: Bears 24, Titans 13
It’s a winning debut for Caleb Williams and the Bears, whose defense will lead the way to victory at Soldier Field.
Evan Thomas: Titans 28, Bears 24
It’s finally Caleb Williams time in Chicago! Can he be the first rookie quarterback since Sam Darnold in 2018 with the Jets to win a Week 1 debut? Williams will hit a few splash plays and Cole Kmet will be a focal point, but I believe the Bears defense will struggle a bit. It's always tough to pick a score so early in the season, but I predict the Titans knock off the Bears in Williams’ debut.
Kevin Lapka: Bears 23, Titans 17
No. 1 overall picks have historically struggled under center in season openers. The last quarterback who was the top overall pick to record a win in a Week 1 debut was David Carr in 2002. Jim Plunkett (1971) and John Elway (1983) are the only other two quarterbacks to do it. Luckily, Caleb Williams was drafted not to follow history but to rewrite it, and his quest to do so will begin with a gritty win at home against a talented Titans team.
Alex Kuhn: Bears 21, Titans 10
The Bears defensive front will be the story of this game. Expect Montez Sweat to have a big day as the Titans are starting a rookie left tackle in JC Latham, who’s transitioning from the right tackle position that he played at Alabama. Titans right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere also struggles mightily in pass protection against speed off the edge. The Bears offense does enough while also saving some looks for the Texans in Week 2.
Tyler Ferengul: Bears 28, Titans 17
The Titans won’t be a pushover in 2024, but this is a favorable matchup for the Bears. This isn’t the kind of defense that Brian Callahan wants to see in his first game as an NFL head coach. The Bears secondary will make life tough on Will Levis, and the defensive line will present challenges for the Titans in running the ball. Behind an electric home crowd, Caleb Williams has too many weapons at his disposal for the Titans defense to stop as he throws three touchdowns to three different targets and propels the Bears to a big win to kick off a new era in Chicago.
Robbie Triano: Bears 28, Titans 13
The Bears enter the season as the most interesting team in the NFL, primarily because of Caleb Williams. The weight of the city rests on the shoulders of a rookie quarterback who’s trying to live up to the unrealistic expectations placed upon him. Will he be Chicago's savior? Can he lead this Bears team to the playoffs in his rookie season? I'm not sure yet, but man, the NFL scheduling gods gave the Bears an easy W in the opener to build momentum. The Titans are the football team version of a shrug emoji. They cleaned house this offseason and are trusting their offense to a man who puts mayonnaise in his coffee. That isn't just a bad recipe for success, but the whole mayonnaise-in-the-coffee thing just isn't a good recipe ... period.
The Bears continue their strong momentum from the offseason and take care of business in Week 1.
Tyler Buterbaugh: Bears 24, Titans 10
This new Bears team looks ready to start off the year 1-0, as Caleb Williams has control over the offense. The Titans no longer have Derrick Henry, and Will Levis has more to prove. Plus, you can’t trust a man who puts mayo in his coffee like Levis does.
Sean Sears: Bears 27, Titans 13
The Titans are going to rely heavily on their running game, which should allow the Bears defense to lean into their strengths. Caleb Williams and the Chicago offense might be slow to start but will get some short fields when the defense forces a few turnovers.
