David Haugh: Bears 27, Vikings 23
The Ben Johnson era begins with the Bears defense leading the way by creating a J.J. McCarthy turnover that leads to a pivotal score.

Marshall Harris: Bears 24, Vikings 20
J.J. McCarthy is a quarterback who has never taken an NFL snap. Dennis Allen is an experienced defensive game-caller who will make him feel like a rookie. It's Ben Johnson's coming-out party. It may not be splashy, but he isn't messing around. The Bears offense should be efficient and potent, otherwise why did the Bears give Johnson the bag?

Chris Emma: Bears 17, Vikings 14
The defenses will shine in a low-scoring game at Soldier Field before Cairo Santos boots a game-winning field goal to give the Bears a victory in their season opener.

Paul Pabst: Bears 21, Vikings 20
The Bears will start slow, as will the Vikings. The Vikings will lead 7-6 at halftime before the Bears win it at the end. It may not be pretty, but who cares. The Bears had too many ugly losses last year that should’ve been wins. So let’s get some ugly wins.

Alex Kuhn: Vikings 14, Bears 10
The Bears are too beat up on defense, and their banged-up secondary allows a late Justin Jefferson touchdown as the Vikings take the opener in an ugly one.

Jakob Stutz: Bears 31, Vikings 17
The Bears take advantage of a rookie quarterback making his debut on primetime in a loud atmosphere. The Bears win with a fun Ben Johnson trick play involved.

Sean Sears: Vikings 24, Bears 19
So the 2025 Chicago Bears are good at … what exactly? We have no clue. But also, what are the Vikings going to be with J.J. McCarthy under center? We also don’t know. Like the Bears, the Vikings upgraded their offensive line this offseason and I expect them to lean on their running game. I’m not sure the Bears can do that yet. Ideally, if this season goes well, the Bears will look back at this game later and say, “We’re a much better team now than then.” But I think the Ben Johnson era in Chicago starts like many others have – with a primetime loss that will lead to a miserable overreaction in Chicago and nationally. Football is back. Bear down.

Tyler Ferengul: Bears 24, Vikings 20
There’s a lot of new with the Bears heading into this season, most notably Ben Johnson’s brand-new offense that's expected to be one of the best in the NFL in the coming years. The Vikings are trotting out J.J. McCarthy under center for his first career NFL start, and I don’t see him winning in what will be a tough primetime environment at Soldier Field. In a close NFC North matchup, the Bears win in Johnson's debut in Chicago.

Robbie Triano: Bears 31, Vikings 27
Today is a new day, a new era. Throw everything out you know about being a Chicago Bears fan the last decade. Because today is the first day that Ben Johnson returns the Chicago Bears to greatness. Those worries everyone has about Caleb Williams? By the end of the season, we’ll even forget who Seth Wickersham is. The Bears score some points when everyone thinks Brian Flores is going to shut them down. In his new home, Johnson makes a statement to the city of Chicago that times will be a changin’ . Bear down.
