PITTSBURGH (670 The Score) -- The Bears have activated running back David Montgomery from injured reserve ahead of their game at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night.
Montgomery has missed the Bears' last four games with a left knee injury that he suffered in a win against the Lions on Oct. 3. He has 69 carries for 309 yards and three touchdowns in four games this season.
The Bears are expected to proceed with Montgomery as their lead running back while rookie Khalil Herbert also plays a role in the backfield, coach Matt Nagy said.
"David's worked extremely hard to be the running back on this football team, to be the guy," Nagy said last week.
In other moves, the Bears also flexed linebackers Cassius Marsh and Sam Kamara from the practice squad to the active roster. Offensive tackle Germain Ifedi was taken off the reserve/COVID-19 list but remains on injured reserve due to a knee injury.
Kickoff between the Bears (3-5) and the Steelers (4-3) is set for Monday at 7:15 p.m. CT from Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.
