LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) Returning to work Monday after earning their first victory of the season, the Bears are close to getting some key reinforcements.

The Bears designated nickel cornerback Kyler Gordon for a return from injured reserve, allowing him to return to practice and opening a 21-day window in which he can be activated. Gordon suffered a hand injury in the Bears' loss to the Packers in their season opener on Sept. 10.

Gordon started in 14 games as a rookie last season, recording three interceptions. He was a second-round pick of the Bears in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Bears safety Eddie Jackson (left foot) and cornerback Jaylon Johnson (hamstring) could also return this week to offer full strength in the secondary. The team will issue its first injury report Wednesday to provide more clarity on that front. Johnson plans to play Sunday when Chicago hosts Minnesota, he told the Parkins & Spiegel Show last Friday evening.

The Bears on Monday also designated second-year center Doug Kramer for a return from injured reserve. Kramer was placed on injured reserve at the start of this season due to an undisclosed injury. He didn't play as a rookie in 2022 due to a Lisfranc injury.

In other roster news, the Bears signed running back Darrynton Evans off the Dolphins' practice squad, adding needed depth at that position. Khalil Herbert (ankle), Roschon Johnson (concussion) and Travis Homer (hamstring) each left Chicago's win at Washington on Thursday due to injury.

Quarterback Nathan Peterman was signed again by the Bears to their practice squad. The team released defensive lineman Deslin Alexandre in a corresponding roster move.

The Bears (1-4) host the Vikings (1-4) on Sunday at Soldier Field. Kickoff is set for noon.
