Bears could be down 2 defenders for opener vs. Vikings

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) -- The Bears have two key defenders whose status for Monday night's season opener is in question.

Bears Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson (groin/calf) remained limited in practice Friday, while linebacker T.J. Edwards (hamstring) did not practice once again. The team will issue game estimates on Saturday.

Johnson is working back from an injury suffered while training in July. This week marked his first action back on the practice field. Edwards suffered his injury during practice in late August.

Nears running back Roschon Johnson (toe) was also still sidelined. Rookie rusher Kyle Monangai (hamstring) and cornerback Josh Blackwell (groin) were also limited.

Vikings veteran safety Harrison Smith (illness) did not practice Friday.

The Bears and Vikings kick off at 7:15 p.m. CT Monday night from Soldier Field.
