LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) -- Bears veteran offensive lineman Dakota Dozier was carted off the practice field Tuesday with an apparent leg injury.
Dozier suffered the injury during the end of a play near the conclusion of practice on the first day of a three-day veteran minicamp at Halas Hall. It wasn’t immediately clear what Dozier’s injury was or how it occurred. Dozier was down on the field for several minutes before being helped onto the cart. Bears general manager Ryan Poles stood alongside Dozier while the team moved its practice to a different field.
Dozier, 31, joined the Bears on a one-year deal this offseason. He has played in 76 career games, starting in 27, across seven NFL seasons. He was competing for a starting spot at right guard on the Bears’ offensive line.
Bears rookie cornerback Kyler Gordon was present Tuesday but remained sidelined from practicing. Coach Matt Eberflus declined to discuss details but indicated Gordon’s status isn’t a concern. Gordon did individual work on the side.
