LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) Bears linebacker Tremaine Edmunds avoided a serious knee injury, but his status for Chicago's game at New Orleans on Sunday is unclear.

Edmunds missed practice Thursday as he continues to deal with the effects of a knee injury that he suffered last Sunday night in Chicago's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. The team has ruled out a significant injury for Edmunds, who's considered day-to-day.

"We'll see where it goes during the week," head coach Matt Eberflus said Wednesday.

Bears quarterback Justin Fields still hasn't been cleared to practice as he continues to recover from a right thumb injury that he suffered on Oct. 15. Rookie Tyson Bagent will make his third straight start at quarterback for the Bears on Sunday.

Safety Jaquan Brisker (concussion), right guard Nate Davis (ankle), tackle Larry Borom (personal) and cornerback Terell Smith (mono) also didn't practice Thursday. Offensive tackle Braxton Jones (neck) was a limited participant, while safety Eddie Jackson (foot) was a full participant.

The Bears (2-6) and Saints (4-4) kick off at noon this Sunday from the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
