Bears officially rule out QB Justin Fields at Chargers, while OT Darnell Wright is good to go

(670 The Score) The Bears on Friday officially ruled out quarterback Justin Fields for their game against the Chargers on Sunday.

Fields will miss his second straight game with a dislocated right thumb. Rookie Tyson Bagent will start at quarterback for a second consecutive contest.

The 24-year-old Fields suffered the injury in a loss to the Vikings on Oct. 15. Bagent was 21-of-29 for 162 yards and a touchdown in his first NFL start last Sunday, one in which the Bears earned a 30-12 win over the Raiders.

The Bears also ruled out right guard Nate Davis (high ankle sprain) and cornerback Terell Smith (mono) for Sunday. Safety Jaquan Brisker (illness), safety Eddie Jackson (foot) and guard Dan Feeney (knee) are questionable to play.

Rookie running back Roschon Johnson (concussion) and right tackle Darnell Wright (shoulder/toe) were each listed without an injury designation, meaning they're cleared to play.

Bears left tackle Braxton Jones (neck) worked in a limited fashion in practice Friday but won't be activated to play Sunday, coach Matt Eberflus told reporters. Jones is on injured reserve and within his window to be activated. Veteran pass rusher Khalid Kareem was a full participant in practice and could be activated. That move must occur by Saturday at 3 p.m. CT for him to play Sunday.

The Bears (2-5) and Chargers (2-4) kick off at 7:20 p.m. CT on Sunday from SoFi Stadium.
