(670 The Score) The Bears have added to their defensive line, courtesy of a claim from the rival Packers' roster.
The Bears on Wednesday signed third-year defensive lineman Jonathan Ford to their active roster, poaching him off the Packers' practice squad.
Ford, 26, was a seventh-round pick of the Packers in 2022. He hasn't played in a regular-season NFL game. The Bears are expected to give Ford an opportunity with their interior defensive line, which has suffered with nose tackle Andrew Billings lost for the season due to a pectoral injury.
In other roster moves Wednesday, the Bears placed receiver/returner DeAndre Carter (hamstring) on injured reserve, which effectively ends his season. Veteran running bacck Royce Freeman was signed to the practice squad.
The Bears (4-9) visit the Minnesota Vikings (11-2) on Monday night at U.S. Bank Stadium.
