As expected, Bears rule out 3 key defensive starters against Cowboys

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score)  The Bears will be down three key defensive starters against the Cowboys on Sunday.

Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson (groin), nickelback Kyler Gordon (hamstring) and linebacker T.J. Edwards (hamstring) have been ruled out for Sunday. The team listed veteran defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (knee) without an injury designation, so he's in line to play.

Johnson has yet to finalize the next step in his rehabilitation and recovery, but he's set to miss an extended period of time and possibly the entire season. In an appearance on the Spiegel & Holmes Show on Monday, he indicated that groin surgery is on the table. The Bears will likely place Johnson on injured reserve Saturday.

The Bears listed running back D'Andre Swift (quad) and linebacker D'Marco Jackson (hamstring) as questionable. Offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie (elbow) and cornerback Jaylon Jones (groin) were ruled out.

The Bears (0-2) and Cowboys (1-1) will kick off at 3:25 p.m. CT on Sunday from Soldier Field.
