Bears rule out Khalil Mack (foot) for Sunday's game against the 49ers

(670 The Score) The Bears have ruled out star pass rusher Khalil Mack for their game against the 49ers on Sunday, but the team hasn't yet determined the path forward for his health.

Mack has been dealing with a left foot injury, which he suffered in a game on Sept. 26. He has played through it since, missing practices but preparing himself to play each Sunday. He has also produced at a high level, recording six sacks in seven games this season. But the Bears recognize his injury isn't healing and are thus considering placing him on injured reserve, which would require him to miss a minimum of three games.

Mack has missed just two games in his eight-year NFL career.

The Bears also listed defensive lineman Akiem Hicks (groin), safety Tashaun Gipson (hip), returner Jakeem Grant (ankle), tight end Jesper Horsted (knee) and offensive lineman Sam Kamara (knee) as questionable to play.

Kickoff between the Bears (3-4) and the 49ers (2-4) is set for noon on Sunday from Soldier Field.
