(670 The Score) Cornerback Artie Burns has returned to the Bears on a one-year deal after missing the entire 2020 season due to injury.

Burns originally joined the Bears last offseason after playing for the Steelers for four years, but he tore his ACL in the preseason and was sidelined for the entire regular season. Pittsburgh selected him 25th overall in the 2016 draft.

Burns will get the opportunity to fight for playing time after the Bears let top cornerback Kyle Fuller and nickelback Buster Skrine go recently in large part due to a salary cap crunch.

In addition to Burns’ signing, the Bears officially announced Friday that they’ve added running back Damien Williams on a one-year deal, which had been reported earlier in the week.
