(670 The Score) The Bears will host veteran running back Lamar Miller for a tryout this week, according to the NFL transaction wire.
Miller, 29, last played with the Texans in 2018. He missed all of the 2019 season while recovering from a torn ACL. A seven-year NFL veteran, Miller has rushed for 5,864 yards and 32 touchdowns in his career, playing four seasons with the Dolphins and three with the Texans.
Miller averaged 4.6 yards per carry and rushed for five touchdowns in 2018 before suffering the torn ACL in August 2019.
The Bears are seeking running back depth after Tarik Cohen suffered a torn ACL in a win at the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday. Chicago on Tuesday promoted rookie Artavis Pierce, an undrafted free agent, from the practice squad to the active roster. The Bears will also host Dalyn Dawkins, Tavien Feaster and Jonathan Williams for tryouts.
Without Cohen, the Bears' running back depth behind starter David Montgomery consists of Cordarrelle Patterson, Ryan Nall and Pierce.
The Bears (3-0) host the Colts (2-1) on Sunday at Soldier Field.
