LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) – The Bears will play their starters against the Bengals at Soldier Field on Saturday in their third preseason game, head coach Matt Eberflus said Thursday.
Eberflus declined to reveal how many snaps the Bears' starters will play, only pointing out that the team has a plan it believes in moving forward. He announced the news following a joint practice between the Bears and Bengals on Thursday at Halas Hall.
Saturday will mark the second preseason game for rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Williams was 4-of-7 for 95 yards in two series last Saturday in Buffalo, his exhibition debut.
The Bears will operate with precautions for players dealing with injuries, holding them out of action as necessary.
The Bengals plan to hold out star quarterback Joe Burrow and their starters Saturday.
The Bears and Bengals will kick off at noon CT on Saturday.
