(670 The Score) The Bears will be in the national spotlight Sunday afternoon as FOX brings its top broadcast team in play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt and analyst Tom Brady to call the game against the Cowboys at Soldier Field.
That means that leading up to kickoff Sunday, Brady will be a part of the customary production meetings with Bears head coach Ben Johnson, quarterback Caleb Williams and team personnel.
One week later, the Bears will travel to Las Vegas to face the Raiders, a team for which Brady is a minority owner and holds an influential position. It represents a conflict of interest for Brady that the NFL has allowed to take place.
Even so, Johnson isn’t concerned with Brady’s presence in the upcoming meetings.
“I’ve been careful with everything I’ve said since the season started,” Johnson said. “I’m in pure coach-speak mode. So to me, it’s just business as usual. I’m just fine. I like Tom, and we have a really good relationship.
“I’m really not worried about it. I mean, we change week to week in terms of what we do. Schematically, he’s going to be able to turn on the tape and see what everybody else in the world sees right now.
“It’s not like I’m going to sit down with him like, ‘Don’t do this to Caleb Williams or you might get him.’ There’s not going to be any trade secrets that are going to be exchanged. I just don’t think it’s really a big deal to be honest with you.”
The Bears and Cowboys will kick off at 3:25 p.m. CT on Sunday from Soldier Field.
