(670 The Score) Kicker Cairo Santos and the Bears have reached an agreement on a four-year contract extension, the team announced Saturday.
Santos will earn up to $16 million over the course of the deal, with $9.5 million of that guaranteed, sources said.
“It is great to extend Cairo for another four years,” general manager Ryan Poles said in a statement. “His consistency and dependability will help us continue to elevate.”
Santos, 32, has connected on 90.5% of his field-goal attempts over parts of five seasons with the Bears. He has been Chicago's kicker since signing with the team in August 2020. He also worked two games for the Bears during the 2017 season.
Santos has hit on 27 of his 29 field-goal attempts this season. He ranks as the Bears' all-time most accurate kicker.
The Bears (5-9) host the Cardinals (3-11) on Sunday at Soldier Field.
