(670 The Score) Bears kicker Cairo Santos on Wednesday was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week following his strong performance in the team's 22-16 overtime win against the Packers on Saturday night at Soldier Field.
Santos booted field goals of 46, 51 and 43 yards and then a successful extra point to tie the game with 24 seconds left. He also delivered a successful onside kick late in the fourth quarter that allowed the Bears' comeback to occur.
Santos' kicking efforts came with in difficult conditions as unpredictable winds swirled at Soldier Field.
Santos is the sixth different Bears player to earn a weekly or monthly honor this season. The others are quarterback Caleb Williams (Offensive Player of the Week in Week 3), cornerback Josh Blackwell (Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 4), rookie tight end Colston Loveland (Offensive Player of the Week in Week 9), cornerback Nahshon Wright (Defensive Player of the Month for November) and linebacker D'Marco Jackson (Defensive Player of the Week in Week 15).
The Bears (11-4) will play the 49ers (11-4) on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.
