Chase Claypool active for Bears debut; Velus Jones Jr. a healthy scratch

CHICAGO (670 The Score) -- New Bears receiver Chase Claypool is active against the Dolphins on Sunday and will make his debut with his new team.

Claypool was acquired by the Bears in a trade Tuesday with the Steelers. Chicago sent a second-round pick back to Pittsburgh in exchange for Claypool, who has 32 receptions for 311 yards and a touchdown this season.

The Bears had game-planned a role for Claypool on Sunday but expressed uncertainty regarding how much opportunity he'd get.

Bears rookie receiver Velus Jones Jr. was a healthy scratch for the team.

The Bears' other inactives were offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood, offensive lineman Ja'Tyre Carter, tight end Jake Tonges and defensive back Lamar Jackson.

The Bears (3-5) and Dolphins (5-3) kick off at noon CT on Sunday from Soldier Field.
