Dan Wiederer shares takeaways from Bears-Colts joint practice: 'There was a lot of trash talking'

(670 The Score) The Bears and Colts held the first of two joint practices with one another Wednesday evening in Westfield, Ind., and from the sounds of it, both teams were juiced up to hit someone other than a teammate.

“I wouldn’t describe it as a little bit of trash talking,” Tribune writer Dan Wiederer said on the Mully & Haugh Show on Thursday morning. “There was a lot of trash talking last night, from both sides. And like I said, it was kind of refreshing. Because it felt that competitive edge that we’re so used to that we don’t get as much of nowadays with everything so regulated and so little being done. I said to somebody last night, one of the reasons they do this for two days instead of three days nowadays because the third day would be all fights.

“There were a few moments last night, even in special team drills, where guys were going after each other facemask-to-facemask jawing at each other. (Bears rookie cornerback) Tyrique Stevenson, he’s not afraid to be heard, both with his play and how he talks.”
