Olin Kreutz is thrilled with how the Bears have improved their offensive line

(670 The Score) Chicago football great Olin Kreutz was thrilled to see how the Bears made aggressive moves recently to improve their offensive line.

The Bears reached trade agreements last week to acquire guard Jonah Jackson from the Rams and All-Pro guard Joe Thuney from the Chiefs, then reached a three-year deal with center Drew Dalman on Monday as the NFL legal tampering period began. Kreutz believes the Bears have made significant upgrades on their offensive line, which was a weakness in the team's disappointing 5-12 season in 2024.

“They go out and they get themselves Thuney, who everybody has a lot of respect for; Jonah Jackson, who played great football in Detroit and had a bad year last year,” Kreutz told the Spiegel & Holmes Show on Monday evening. “Hopefully, he can pick up for us what he was doing with Ben Johnson. And then you went out and got the No. 1 center on the market, Drew Dalman. Very consistent, good technique, good outside zone football player, has played with young quarterbacks, can get guys lined up, can get the calls out, can do the job that he needs to do. He’s in the prime of his football career at 26. Really just coming into his own as a football player. Hopefully he keeps ascending under (new offensive line coach Dan) Roushar.

“The two lines right now, when you line them up – obviously, left tackle, you still want to know what’s going on with Braxton Jones, got to see him improve – but the Bears have really improved themselves again in the offseason on both of their lines.”

The Bears also reached deals Monday to sign pass rusher Dayo Odeyingbo and defensive tackle Grady Jarrett.

All deals can become official Wednesday at 3 p.m., when the new league year begins.
