(670 The Score) An already decimated Bears offensive line has suffered further attrition.

Offensive tackle Jason Spriggs has tested positive for COVID-19, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported Tuesday afternoon. That will sideline Spriggs from Chicago’s game at Tennessee on Sunday as the team officially placed him on the COVID-19 reserve list. Additionally, guard Germain Ifedi was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list after being deemed to have been in high-risk close contact with Spriggs, Rapoport reported.

Depending on how his health situation plays out in the coming days, Ifedi could still play for the Bears on Sunday. In a series of moves, the Bears also promoted rookie offensive lineman Lachavious Simmons from the practice squad. Center Aaron Neary was signed to the practice squad.

Spriggs was filling the void of offensive tackle Bobby Massie, who suffered a knee injury in the Bears’ loss Sunday. Massie was officially placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

Massie is the third starter of five on the Bears’ offensive line to be sidelined, as center Cody Whitehair (calf) was out Sunday and guard James Daniels suffered a season-ending pectoral tear on Oct. 8.
