(670 The Score) First-year Bears general manager Ryan Poles was “bothered a lot” by three players on his roster being arrested this offseason, he said Tuesday at a press conference as the team opened training camp.

Receiver Byron Pringle was arrested in April on reckless driving charges and for driving on a suspended license after police found him doing donuts in his vehicle with a child in the backseat.

In June, Bears linebacker Matt Adams was arrested on misdemeanor charges for unlawful use of a weapon. In July, receiver David Moore was arrested on drug and weapon charges in early July in Texas. He was found with edibles, which are illegal in Texas.

“It bothered me a lot,” Poles said. “Anytime your phone goes off and there’s an issue, you got to take responsibility. It’s on my watch. So it absolutely bothered me. I had conversations with everyone. I already addressed the Pringle one. But I had conversations about how I felt about it. We gathered information and we’re taking that through the process and handling it what I think is the right way.”

Asked if he believes he has the “right guys,” Poles responded “yes” and then expanded on his answer.

“I think we have the right guys,” Poles said. “I think there were mistakes made, for sure. We had those conversations, and there’s a process when that happens through the league, through our team, security, all that stuff.
And we’ll go through that process and go from there. But yes, as a leader of our organization, when the phone goes off and there’s an incident and we’re not doing what we’re supposed to do and we know what the standards are of being a Chicago Bear, absolutely it bothers me.”
