(670 The Score) Retained for the 2021 season but tasked with bringing Chicago a bigger winner right now after consecutive 8-8 seasons, Bears general manager Ryan Pace finds himself at intersection of aggressive and desperate this offseason.

In the mind of Radio.com Sports host and analyst Ross Tucker, that puts the Bears in a really precarious place, as it would be understandable if Pace gambles big on 2021 at the expense of the future.

"This is the problem whenever you bring somebody back but everybody knows that they're kind of on thin ice or they're going into the year on the hot seat," Tucker said on the Mully & Haugh Show on Friday morning. "Like, (for) Ryan Pace, I don't blame him at all. I would sign guys to contracts with money into future years. I would use draft picks this year for (Carson) Wentz or whatever and trade up. That's the next guy's problem, right? And if you have success, you can figure it out again next year. But that's what these guys do. It happens a lot."

The Bears have expressed interest in trading for Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, the No. 2 overall pick in 2016. The belief is the Eagles desire at least one first-round pick in a potential deal, according to reports.

The Bears have declined to reveal how the length of Pace's contract. Chicago made the playoffs after going 8-8 in the regular season in 2020, losing 21-9 at New Orleans in the wild-card round. The Bears haven't won a playoff game in Pace's six-year tenure in Chicago.
