The news came as the league has postponed a series of games due to COVID-19 concerns, including its entire slate of contests Monday. The Blackhawks had one player – defenseman Calvin de Haan – in the COVID-19 protocols before a short holiday break. It wasn’t immediately clear if the Blackhawks had further health issues or if the Blue Jackets’ COVID-19 situation led to the postponement.

Chicago has now had four games postponed by COVID-19 issues this season. The Blackhawks are set to visit the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday evening.
