The Bulls officially ruled out star guard Zach LaVine and guard Alex Caruso on Wednesday morning. Both had been previously listed as questionable to play.

LaVine entered the health and safety protocols Tuesday, the fourth known time in the past 13 months that he has encountered COVID-19 issues. He averaged 24.4 points per game in the regular season, the second-best mark on the team and 17th-best mark in the NBA.

Caruso is in the concussion protocol after exiting early in Game 4 when he took an elbow to the face. He’s the Bulls’ best defender and was instrumental in the first two games of the series as the Bulls gave the Bucks problems, with the teams splitting a pair of games in Milwaukee. The Bucks responded with two blowout wins over the weekend in Chicago to take a 3-1 series lead.
