(670 The Score) The Bulls have signed guard/forward Javonte Green and waived forward Terry Taylor, the team announced Thursday.
Green had played three games for Chicago on a 10-day contract, which recently expired. By signing a standard deal, Green will be eligible to be on the Bulls’ roster for the play-in round and the playoffs if they reach them. The Bulls’ roster was full, which is why they waived Taylor to pave the way for Green.
Green averaged 5.0 points and 3.7 rebounds in 17.0 minutes in his three games on the 10-day contract. Green had previously been a regular member of the Bulls’ rotation from 2021-’23 before the team chose to not re-sign him this past offseason, when Green was coming off right knee surgery and still finishing rehab. The Bulls originally acquired Green in a trade in 2021.
Taylor averaged 1.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in 36 games in his Bulls tenure.
The Bulls will host the Knicks on Friday at the United Center. The Bulls and Hawks are currently tied for ninth in the East with identical 36-40 records. Chicago holds the tiebreaker. The team that finishes ninth will host the 10th-place finisher in the play-in tournament.
