Bulls' Zach LaVine remains 5th among East guards in All-Star fan voting

LaVine is averaging 28.2 points, which ranks fifth in the NBA through Wednesday.

(670 The Score) The Bulls' Zach LaVine remained fifth among Eastern Conference guards in the second returns of fan voting for the All-Star Game.

As of Thursday midday, LaVine had garnered 936,309 votes. That trailed the Wizards' Bradley Beal, the Nets' Kyrie Irving, the Nets' James Harden and the Celtics' Jaylen Brown. All-Star starters are chosen by a combination of fan (50%), media (25%) and player (25%) voting. All-Star starter voting is comprised of two guards and three frontcourt players in each conference.

LaVine, 25, is averaging a career-high 28.2 points, which ranks fifth in the NBA. He also has career-best marks in shooting 51.8% from the field and 42.5% from 3-point range. LaVine scored 46 points in the Bulls' win against the Pelicans on Wednesday night.

Coaches select the All-Star reserves, which at this point appears to be LaVine's path to receive the honor. The All-Star Game will be held in Atlanta on March 7.
