(RADIO.COM Sports) The NBA Draft will be held closer to its normal timing in 2021.
After the 2020 NBA Draft took place last Nov. 18 as the result of the COVID-19 pandemic, making it the first draft held outside of June since 1975, it will now return to the summer months. The draft itself will be held on July 29, NBA insider Shams Charania reported, a little over a month after the draft lottery takes place on June 22. The combine is scheduled for the same week as the lottery.
The format of the NBA Draft is still a question as far as how many individuals will be in attendance or if it'll be mostly virtual. The 2021 NFL Draft, set for April 29-May 1, will be held in Cleveland and will feature a select number of prospects, fans and media members.
The Bulls don't own a first-round pick in the upcoming draft after trading it to the Magic last week as part of a package to land All-Star center Nikola Vucevic. The Bulls do own their second-round pick.
