(670 The Score) Third-base coach Willie Harris and the Cubs have agreed to part ways, 670 The Score baseball insider Bruce Levine reported Friday.
Harris, 46, had been with the Cubs' coaching staff since 2021, when he was brought on by then-manager David Ross. He remained on the coaching staff in 2023 as current manager Craig Counsell worked his first season in Chicago.
Harris was a 12-year MLB veteran who played four seasons for the White Sox and is best-known for his contributions on their 2005 World Series championship team.
The Cubs also parted ways with first-base coach Mike Napoli and assistant hitting coach Jim Adduci recently. The moves will allow Counsell to form his own staff after he was hired last November.
The Cubs are coming off an 83-79 season. They've missed the playoffs in four straight years.
