Sources: Bears to acquire veteran center Garrett Bradbury in a trade with Patriots

(104.3 The Score) After losing Pro Bowl center Drew Dalman to an unexpected retirement earlier this week, the Bears on Friday found their replacement at that position.

The Bears are acquiring veteran center Garrett Bradbury in a trade with the Patriots while sending a fifth-round pick back to New England, according to league sources. The deal can become official Wednesday, when the new league years begins.

Bradbury, 30, is a seven-year veteran with 105 career starts at center. He spent the first six years of his career with the Vikings before playing for the Patriots in 2025.

Bradbury was a first-round pick of the Vikings in 2019.

The Bears' deal for Bradbury was struck Friday after Dalman's retirement decision was officially filed to the league office. Dalman informed the team of his intent to retire early this week.

Dalman earned Pro Bowl honors this past season, the first of his three-year, $42-million deal with Chicago.

The Bears also officially released veteran linebacker Tremaine Edmunds on Friday, a move that cleared $15 million in salary cap space.
