Source: Bears to re-sign left tackle Braxton Jones on a 1-year contract

(104.3 The Score) The Bears will re-sign left tackle Braxton Jones on a one-year deal, a source said Monday evening. The deal is worth up to $10 million, according to reports.

Jones, 26, has started 44 games for the Bears over the past four seasons. He fell out of a starting role in 2025 ahead of his free agency this offseason, but the team believes he's a viable starting option when healthy.

Jones will likely compete with Theo Benedet for the starting left tackle job. Ozzy Trapilo, who started six games at tackle last season, is expected to miss all of 2026 with a knee injury.

With Jones returning, the Bears have four of their five offensive linemen back who started the season opener in 2025. Center Drew Dalman officially retired last week, after which the Bears acquired center Garrett Bradbury in a trade with the Patriots.
