(670 The Score) The Cubs have acquired righty reliever Eli Morgan in a trade with the Guardians, the team announced Wednesday.
Morgan, 28, posted a 1.93 ERA and 0.98 WHIP in 32 appearances across 42 innings in 2024. He has a 3.97 ERA in four MLB seasons.
In return, the Cubs sent Class-A outfielder Alfonsin Rosario to the Guardians. Rosario, 20, hit .230 with 16 homers, 73 RBIs and a .767 OPS in 109 games as Class-A Myrtle Beach in 2024. He was a sixth-round pick of the Cubs in 2023.
In another roster move Wednesday, the Cubs have designated infielder Patrick Wisdom for assignment, according to reports. Wisdom, 33, hit 84 homers across five seasons with the Cubs.
