(670 The Score) The Cubs made a flurry of roster moves ahead of their series finale against the Brewers on Wednesday afternoon.

Chicago activated catcher Austin Romine from the 10-day injured list and activated reliever Jason Adam from the COVID-19 related injured list. The Cubs also selected right-hander Shelby Miller from their alternate site at South Bend.

In corresponding moves, the Cubs designated catcher Tony Wolters for assignment, optioned right-hander Adbert Alzolay to the alternate site and optioned reliever Brad Wieck to the alternate site.

Romine hasn’t appeared in a game with the Cubs in the regular season yet after suffering a knee sprain in spring training. He joined the team on a one-year deal in January and is a career .239 hitter.

Adam has a 2.45 ERA in four appearances for the Cubs this season. Miller hasn’t pitched for the Cubs yet in the regular season after joining the team on a minor league deal in February. He worked at the Brewers alternate site in 2020 but didn’t appear in a game for them.

Alzolay has a 6.10 ERA in two starts for the Cubs after earning the No. 5 spot in their rotation. Wieck threw a scoreless inning in his season debut Monday.

Wolters was 0-for-4 in limited action across three games for the Cubs early this season.
