Cubs place right-hander Jameson Taillon on injured list with a groin strain

(670 The Score) The Cubs have placed right-hander Jameson Taillon on the injured list with a left groin strain, the team announced Thursday afternoon.

Taillon was scratched from his scheduled start later in the evening against the Dodgers. The Cubs recalled right-hander Javier Assad to start in Taillon’s place.

Taillon is 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 14 innings across three starts this season, his first with the Cubs. Assad made two appearances for the Cubs earlier this season, posting a 12.46 ERA in that limited action

First pitch between the Cubs and Dodgers is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. Thursday. The game can be heard on 670 The Score.
