(670 The Score) The Cubs have placed right-hander Shelby Miller on the 10-day injured list with a lower back strain, they announced Friday.
In a corresponding move, Chicago recalled lefty reliever Kyle Ryan from its alternate training site in South Bend.
Miller has struggled this season, working two innings across three appearances and allowing seven runs, all earned. Ryan hasn’t pitched for the Cubs at the big league level yet this season. He had a 3.54 ERA in 73 appearances in 2019 and a 5.17 ERA in 18 appearances in 2020.
